Dr. Vibhavari Naik

MD, DNB (Anaesthesiology), FOAPM

Dr. Vibhavari Naik is a seasoned anesthesiologist with over 25 years of clinical experience. She currently serves as Senior Consultant Anesthesiologist at the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and the Basavatarakam Smile Train Center in Hyderabad.

After completing her postgraduate training in anesthesia at BJ Medical College, Pune, Dr. Naik went on to work at the Christian Medical College, Vellore. She further completed a fellowship at UCLA Harbor in the United States.

Dr. Naik has a strong academic and clinical interest in pediatric anesthesia and onco-anesthesia. In recognition of her contributions to these fields, she has been awarded Honorary Fellowships by both the Indian Association of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (IAPA) and the Society of Oncoanaesthesia and Perioperative Care (SOAPC).

She has played an active role in the Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (ASPA), having served as an Executive Committee Member and Secretary. In these capacities, she has contributed significantly to the development and delivery of Pediatric Perioperative Life Support (PPLS) courses across Asia. As Vice-President of the Indian Association of Vital Anaesthesia Simulation Training (VAST), Dr. Naik leads training programs for anesthesiologists focused on perioperative crisis management using simulation techniques.

She is the Editor-in-Chief of the IAPA newsletter, an editorial board member of the ASPA newsletter, and an Executive Committee Member of SOAPC. She is also the Associate Editor for the fourth edition of Dr. Rebecca Jacob’s Textbook of Paediatric Anaesthesia and has authored multiple textbook chapters and peer-reviewed publications. She has delivered more than 200 invited talks nationally and internationally.
