Dr. B. Krishnamurthy is Smile Train Project Director at Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Hospital in Bangalore. He is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has been associated with Smile Train for more than 16 years. His team at Bhagwan Mahavir Jain Hospital has conducted 8,000+ free cleft surgeries in just 10 years. An experienced professional, Dr. Krishnamurthy has performed more than 45,000 cleft surgeries in the past two decades.
He is a graduate in dentistry from Government Dental College, Bangalore, and in medicine from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He has post-graduate qualifications in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Mangalore University and the Royal College of Surgeons of London & Ireland. He has also published several research papers in reputed national and international journals.
Dr. Krishnamurthy currently serves as President of the Indian Society for Cleft Lip, Palate, and Craniofacial Anomalies and Vice President of the International Board for Certification of Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has previously served as the President of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India.
He also served as Editor of the Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery and the Journal of Cleft Lip, Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies.
