Mr. Ankur Warikoo

Ankur is Co-Founder and CEO of nearbuy.com, India’s number one lifestyle app for stepping out. Nearbuy.com works with 70,000+ local businesses across 33 cities in India. The local business include beauty and wellness, activities, food and beverages, movies and events, and travel.

Prior to nearbuy.com, Ankur was Head of Groupon’s India, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines business. Nearbuy.com is the result of a management buyout of Groupon’s India business in August 2015.

Ankur has been an internet entrepreneur since 2008. In 2008 he co-founded Accentium Web along with two others from ISB that ran websites including Gaadi.com, Secondshaadi.com, and Taaza.com amongst others. Thereafter, Ankur launched Rocket Internet’s India business and helped set-up the footprint for Jabong and Groupon.

After completing his MBA, Ankur was a Management Consultant with A.T. Kearney for three years. He worked in Delhi, Dubai and New York during this time.

Ankur holds a management degree from the Indian School of Business (Class of 2006) where he received the Young Leader Award. He also holds a master’s degree in Physics from Michigan State University and holds a bachelor’s degree from Hindu College, Delhi University.

Ankur is a regular public speaker and social media influencer, with 800,000+ followers across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

Ankur was part of Fortune Magazine’s 40 under 40 List for India, is part of LinkedIn India’s Power Profiles List, has been named as India’s Top Executives under 40 by Business Today and has been awarded the Social Media Entrepreneur of the Year by Silicon Review.
