Premlata joined Smile Train in January 2022 as the Director of Finance and Operations in India.

Premlata is a Chartered Accountant with around 20 years of experience in auditing, accounting, and administration. She has previously worked in the Audit and Assurance division of Deloitte, one of the Big 4 audit firms; the finance division of corporates and non-profits; and led the finance and operations team of donor-funded projects at organizations including the EU, The Global Fund, and Misereor.

She has carried out financial trainings and assessments for organizations including the International Planned Parenthood Federation, Maiti Nepal, Geneva Global, UN Women (India), and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), amongst others. Premlata has also volunteered her skills to help organizations including the United Way of Central Jersey, Jersey Cares, AARP, and Mito Action.
