The Smile Train’s #1 priority is to insure the safety of the patient. All of The Smile Train’s treatment partnerships are required to follow The Smile Train’s Quality Improvement Protocol, which lays out the basic elements needed to insure safe surgeries and to provide for the ongoing review and improvement of the quality of care.

The Protocol has been developed by The Smile Train to maintain high safety standards, quality improvement and quality control of all Smile Train surgeries. This protocol provides a basic level of assurance that the results of the surgeries it sponsors are adequate. Second, in keeping with its educational mission, The Smile Train will use information from this sample of reviewed surgeries to effectively target its educational and training activities.
