Every year about 35,000
children are born in India with clefts defects. Most
cleft births occur in rural India where
poverty is rampant and access to medical resources is scarce.
A cleft defect can be corrected through
surgery for as little as Rs. 12,000. But
left untreated, it devastates lives. Less
than 50% of these children receive the medical treatment
that can give them a chance at a normal life.
Smile Train's singular goal is
to provide free safe and quality treatment of
cleft defects to millions of children in India and around the
world. Since 2000, Smile Train has sponsored over 250,000
surgeries in India.
But the job is far from done. Over one
million children in India still need treatment. That's

Smile Train is happy to provide you a receipt for your donation.
If you are donating via cheque or cash and would like a receipt,
please fill out and enclose our printable
donation form with your mailed cheque or bank deposit slip,
with the box for 'Mail Receipt' checked. For online donations,
you will be provided the option of printing a receipt immediately
after you complete the transaction.
Income Tax Exemption under 80(G)
Donations made to Smile Train India are exempt from tax under
Section 80G(5) of the Income Tax Act 1961.
